There are five classifications for employment-based immigration via Lawful Permanent Residence. EB-1 Priority Workers In these fields, you should be internationally recognized for your contribution to your field, with at least three years employment history. As a manager or executive, you are required to have been employed outside the U.S. for at least one of the past three years. EB-2 Professionals with advanced degrees or persons with exceptional ability This is a “lesser” of the EB-1, meaning that you may be outstanding in your field yet do rise to the “extraordinary” ability of the EB-1. However, like the EB-1, you will need to demonstrate substantial achievement in your field. EB-3 Skilled or professional workers A skilled worker should have at least two years experience either through on-the-job training or higher education. Professional workers must have the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree.
